Portugal is authentic with picturesque villages and landscape. Medieval castles are prevalent and charming villages are spread across the country on winding coastlines and hillsides. Whether or not you have a budget of a rich man or a poor man, you will be able to get by and explore Portugal with ease and happiness regardless. If you are on a tight budget, simply choose to camp or stay at a youth hostel. You can buy your own meals at reasonable prices and enjoy simple activities such as exploring the country side, relaxing on the beach, visiting museums and taking advantage of drink promotions. If you are free to live how you like, enjoy five star resorts, luxurious living, fancy meals, expensive cocktails and a great nightlife. At restaurants and bars, tips are expected at 5% to 10%.

 

There are many activities you can participate in. Throughout the year, the weather is warm and sunny with mild winters. The best time to visit is around mid-June to mid-September. It is important to protect yourself before you enter Portugal. Do not forget to visit your doctor and your dentist. Cover for tetanus, polio, rubella, mumps, measles and diphtheria. Know that good health care is available. The crime rate is low however there is pickpocketing and bag snatching so care should be taken.
